Pinjarra is set to impress this WA Day long weekend, with not only the 2019 LiveLighter Pinjarra Festival, but also a number of other exciting events set to showcase this quirky town's enticing array of offerings.
The LiveLighter Pinjarra Festival, Murray's largest free community event, bursts into the iconic grounds of Edenvale Homestead from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2.
The festival promises to entertain attendees of all ages with its impressive line-up of live music, market stalls, children's activities, displays, demos, amusements and more.
Shire president David Bolt said the two-day festival is a celebration of Murray's distinctive history and lifestyle, and a highlight on the region's event calendar.
"The short drive is well-worth the trip to indulge in the vibrant and culturally rich elements of the Shire of Murray, including local arts, crafts, produce and recreational activities significant to our region," he said.
The 2019 music line-up has been choice-selected to bolster the festival atmosphere.
On Saturday, the Lotterywest main stage will see powerhouse duo AViiDA delight event attendees with their soulful mix of R&B, blues and soul.
On the Sunday, HYPE will captivate the crowd with their energetic cover of chart toppers including pop, rock, country, blues, classic and contemporary genres.
Self-taught singer songwriter Dawyray, will wrap up the main stage entertainment on both Saturday and Sunday, in an acoustic, bluesy storytelling style.
Buskers will perform at various locations throughout the festival grounds, for the musical entertainment of the masses as they browse over 100 market stalls, vintage car and machinery displays, woodturning demonstrations and indulge in a variety of delicious food truck options.
Bubbly will delight the Festival's younger attendees, with their monster bubbles demonstration made possible by the Pinjarra Community Bank Branch, Bubble Party Show and giant bubble blowing activity.
The kids will also have the opportunity to jump, swirl and shake in the free Alcoa Eco Faeries Energizer Zone and monkey-around in the much-loved Gymbus playground presented by MZI Resources.
Free face painting, laser tag and art and craft activities will further delight the kids, as will annual favourites the Mini Animal Farm, camel, pony and train rides.
Saturday's celebration will continue into the night for the first-ever Alcoa Pinjarra WA Day Concert, featuring some of WA's best musical talent.
Hailing from the Seychelles, Afro Kreol musician Grace Barbe will bring an international element to the event and will be joined by West Aussies' Chain, Jack Runaway and Family Shoveller Band as well as Pinjarra local Brooke Bugeja.
In the spirit of celebrating the best of Western Australia, brewer Thorny Devil will be in attendance as well as over 25 street food vendors.
