Emma Klasztorny pulled down 17 rebounds and Casey Mihovilovich was at her best as the Mandurah Magic won their second thriller over Kalamunda in as many weeks on Saturday night.
Just a week after securing a two-point victory over the Suns in round one, the Magic women squeaked by their opponents once again, this time for only half that margin with a heart-stopping 75-76 win.
Much like round one the Magic were forced to overcome a troublesome start, with a brilliant second period helping overcome what was an eight-point deficit at quarter time.
Mihovilovich poured in 10 points in the second while Klasztorny chipped in six as the Magic cut the lead to just two points at the end of the first half.
Both sides came out firing in the third but it was Kalamunda bringing the most heat, with Jennie Rintala and Lauren Jeffers making big plays to see their side out to a 10-point lead in the dying stages of the term.
But the final 37 seconds of the quarter was a dream run for the Magic, as Mihovilovich, Madeleine Pettit and Rachel Pettit snatched all the momentum cutting the lead to just four points heading into the fourth.
A Mihovilovich three delivered Mandurah the lead early in the fourth quarter, with a neck-and-neck battle ensuing.
Import Delany Junkermier hit the go-ahead basket with just 1:20 remaining on the clock, which would go on to be the game winner for the Magic.
Mihovilovich ended her night with a stunning 24 points, eight rebounds, six assists and six steals, while Klasztorny went for 19 points, 17 rebounds.
Junkermier also hit the stat sheet with 12 points, five rebounds.
Mandurah now sits in sixth on the standings, and will return home this Saturday night to face East Perth at 6pm.
