Mandurah patients suffering from hair loss as a result of cancer treatment have been given a generous donation from the Peel Districts Day Lodge.
Cancer Council WA wig library at Dot's Place in Greenfields have received 130 new turbans and 20 beanies, worth over $2650 .
This is thanks to charity steward Kevin St Jack, who said the foundation's intention was to give back to the community in a practical way.
"A member of our lodge mentioned that his wife volunteers at Dot's Place Peel, which led to us learning that the centre relies heavily on public donations," he said.
"It was suggested that in view of the constant client demand for wigs and scarves, perhaps our donation could be used to update the stock in the wig library."

Dot's Place Peel Support Centre coordinator Marion Leach said the donation meant a wider selection of turbans for clients.
"Having suitable headwear increases the client's confidence at such a confronting period in their cancer journey," she said.
"For many clients, hair loss is a very visual indication that they are not well, so this can often be one of the most upsetting and emotional phases."
Ms Leach said that before the donation there was a shortage of turbans.
"Not all ladies want to wear wigs, particularly in the summer months," she said.
"We like to be able to offer people a few different styles and colours of turbans in their favourite colours."
Clients at the wig library service are given the opportunity to discuss concerns with councillors and onsite cancer support coordinators, who are also given financial support and therapy.
Wig service in Peel is a not-for-profit organisation who seek donations of scarfs and turbans.
