The highly anticipated Dwellingup Adventures Trails project has secured almost $3.5 million from the federal government to create a "world-class" events hub in the Peel region.
In total, $3.465 million has been guaranteed through the Building Better Regions Fund, regardless of the outcome of the upcoming federal election.
On Friday, Canning MP Andrew Hastie announced the funding injection and congratulated the Shire of Murray on their successful application.
The project will deliver 80 ongoing jobs in Dwellingup and is tipped to attract an additional 75,000 visitors to the region.

"The Peel Region is a beautiful place to live, work and play," Mr Hastie said.
"That's why I've fought for funding from Canberra that will develop local job opportunities in the tourism industry.
"This project will transform Dwellingup and surrounding areas into a world class trails destination. We expect Dwellingup to attract trail riders from around Australia and the world.
"The flow on benefits to the Peel region will be immense, contributing to our entire local economy.
"This grant comes in addition to the over $1.2 million we invested in 2017 to build the Dwellingup Trails Centre.
"That's over $4.7 million we have delivered over the last two years to foster local jobs in tourism through this project alone."
On Friday, Labor's candidate for the federal seat of Canning Mellisa Teede also spoke on the matter.
Ms Teede joined shadow minister for regional communications and services, territories and local government Stephan Jones to announce their commitment to the Dwellingup Adventures Trails project, if Labor was successful at the forthcoming election.
The pair did not disclose how much funding or when it would be delivered if elected but stated Labor "would not delay investment in local communities by revisiting investment decisions that have already been made".
The $3.465 million will go towards:
- Construction of 20 kilometres of mountain bike trails in Murray Valley
- Sealing the 28 kilometre arterial road inside Lane Poole Reserve
- Construction of an additional 12 kilometres of trails linking into and out of Dwellingup
- A new bridge across Murray River at Baden Powell reserve to join north and south mountain bike circuit
- Realignment and improvement of six kilometres of the Munda-Biddi Trail
- Increased parking at key trail sites around the trails network
- Upgrades to sections of the Captain Fawcett 4WD trail
