Jayden Derosa's dominance with the ball put paid to Halls Head's hopes of playing finals this Peel Cricket Association season, with the Waroona star leading his side to victory on Saturday afternoon.
The former PCA champion player destroyed Halls Head's batting order as the Warriors continued their red hot pre-finals form, taking a stunning 5/9 from his 10 overs and picking up six maidens along the way.
His relentless attack began early as he snaffled the wickets of Halls Head openers Levi Muller and Michael Chappell for a duck and four runs respectively.
Somehow things got even worse for the visitors when Alex Dillion (3), Nathan Howell (0) and Dale Burns (3) were sent packing, leaving the side in a disastrous 5/18 crater.
Scott Martin (22) provided every score of the 13-run partnership he notched with last-in-line batsman Andrew Pascoe (0) in a last-ditch effort to will the side to some form of score, but Halls Head were eventually all out on 59 in the 31st over.
Waroona would go on to lose just one wicket as they chased down the required total in under 13 overs, with last week's hero Nic Rep (9) caught out early.
But Dan Abel would go on to do the bulk of the work with his 37 runs going unbeaten, while Keren Ugle chipped in with 10.
The victory assures Waroona will finish in the top two, earning a second chance in the finals.
Meanwhile Halls Head have been officially booted out of the finals race as the loss brings their six-game win streak to a grinding halt.
Baldivis def. Shoalwater Bay
Wesley Steele's run-a-ball ton saw Baldivis pommel Shoalwater Bay over the weekend.
Steele clocked 112 runs off as many deliveries in a stellar knock that included 19 fours for the White Knights opener, teaming up with Hayden Lynn (55 off 31), Adam Bremner (31 off 18) and Matt Rennie (40 off 45) as their side stormed to a 7/315 total.
From there it was bowlers Greg Roos (4/29), Kyle Ralph (3/28) and Mitch Brown (2/7) taking control to dismiss Shoalwater on 74 in the 26th over.
The win keeps Baldivis in top spot ahead of their final regular season game against Halls Head.
Pinjarra def. Mandurah
Mandurah dropped their second straight game to a Pinjarra side eager to keep their finals hopes alive in round 17.
A quick 38 off 27 balls from Jamie Lee set the Tigers on the right path, with Joseph Slade (45 not out), Jordan Hodgetts (34) and Jason Poolman (23) chiming in to see Pinjarra out to 9/203.
Mandurah hit the crease keen to recover their early-season form, but the early falls of Ian Lattimore (8) and Jordan Bell (0) dented their efforts.
Paul Okey put in a team-high 20 runs, but Matt Gordon (3/25) led a Pinjarra attack that cleaned up Mandurah for 130 runs.
Singleton def. South Mandurah
Tim Hutchison's outstanding performance helped Singleton consolidate their spot in the top four as he buoyed them to a win over South Mandurah.
The opening batsman pitched in a game-high 63 runs, teaming up with Brad Ranford (42) and Brendan Gillian (30) as the trio helped guide the Irwinians to 6/218 from their 50 overs.
South Mandurah's response was lackluster in the face of some dominant bowling from Josh Prosser (4/29) and Hutchison (2/9), with the duo restricting the Falcons to just 89 runs.
The win helps cement Singleton's claim on a finals spot, with a huge match against Mandurah looming in the final round this weekend.
Warnbro def. Hillman
The Swans won the battle of the bottom two with Jake Cassidy's bowling lifting them over Hillman on Saturday.
Sent in to bat first, Warnbro tallied just 123 runs with scores from Ben Doudle (25), Mitchell Cowan (24) and Matthew Gill (23) buoying an up-and-down innings from the Swans.
But Cassidy's bowling helped defend the small total, as he claimed 4/12 alongside 4/28 from Cowan, helping restrict Hillman to just 87 runs, 53 of which came off the bat of Sarath Mohan.
The two sides will play their final games for the season next week.
