UPDATE: DFES has issued an Advice warning for people in Wellesley, in the Shire of Harvey.
The fire has been contained, with no immediate threat to lives or homes.
Firefighters are currently strengthening the containment lines, patrolling the area, and mopping up.
Fire hits Wellesley – February 3
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services has downgraded an Emergency bushfire warning to a Watch and Act alert.
Shire of Harvey and City of Bunbury fire crews responded to 000 call regarding a bush fire in Wellesley around 1.39pm on Sunday, February 3.
Over 100 Career Fire and Rescue Service, Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service, Bush Fire Service, or Parks and Wildlife Service firefighters are in attendance.
Helitacs and water bombers are assisting fire crews during the operation.
Over 55 hectares have been burnt, so far.
The cause of the bushfire is still unknown.
Around 4pm, an Emergency warning was issued for Treasure Road and Plantation Outlook in the Shire of Harvey.
The warning was then downgraded around 4.50pm.
The Watch and Act alert is still in place for people within an area bounded by Papalia Crescent, Ridgeview Way, Marriot Road, Campbell Road, and Forrest Highway.
