The Mandurah Outboards team loves nothing more than seeing their customers out and about having a great time on our region’s world-class waterways.
They make it their mission to ensure that time out on the water with family and friends is as enjoyable as possible.
“When we are out on the water we can often relax, leaving the stress of work and other things happening in our lives behind us,” Mandurah Outboards sales manager James Jackman said.
A locally-owned-and-operated business, Mandurah Outboards has serviced the Peel region for 32 years.
”After completing his marine apprenticeship, my father and current owner of Mandurah Outboards, Peter Jackman, saw an opportunity to open his own marine service centre in Mandurah,” James said.
“I have been back with the business full-time for the past two years, after previously being involved with the business on and off since the age of 14.”
Mandurah Outboards employs 10 local staff who are knowledgeable and experienced in the areas of new and used boat and motor sales, chandlery sales, servicing, repair work and accounts.
Mandurah Outboards is the exclusive dealer for the Quintrex and Mercury brands in the Peel region.
“We are also the only Mercury/Mercruiser-certified service centre in the Peel region,” James said.
“Whether it’s a 12-foot dinghy or a 40-foot cruiser, our staff have the expertise and the knowledge to keep you out on the water for longer.”
“I can’t think of a task too big or too small that we couldn’t handle.”
Qualified technicians are available to perform servicing in Mandurah Outboards’ large workshop.
In addition, Mandurah Outboards is Western Australia’s largest stockist of Bargain Boat Bits accessories, meaning they can offer customers a large range of quality products at an affordable price.
Keeping up-to-date with trends and technological developments in the industry is important to the team at Mandurah Outboards, as it helps them advise customers what is best for their individual requirements.
“We are starting to see outboards become a much more popular way of powering boats compared with sterndrives,” James said.
“Our industry now has large horsepower, four-stroke outboards that can push big boats. In general, outboards are easier and cheaper to maintain than sterndrives and are right now providing greater reliability.”
Purchasing a boat is a big decision, so it makes sense to deal with a team that not only shares a wealth of knowledge in the industry but also shares your passion for cruising, fishing (or anything boat-related really).
“When you have a sore tooth you go and see a dentist,” James said.
“The same theory should be applied when you are looking to buy a boat or looking to have repairs made to your boat or motor.
Time and time again we hear of people who didn’t make simple checks on used boats that they have purchased privately and, instead of having fun on the water over the weekend, they were instead towed in by the sea rescue.”
