Mandurah residents appear set to enjoy some cooler weather over the coming days after sweating it out through a couple of scorchers over the weekend.
While our coastal city didn’t feel the sun’s bite quite as hard as the metropolitan area (temperatures in Perth reached 41.8 degrees on Sunday), Mandurah still sweltered through its hottest weekend for some time.
The local temperature peaked at 35.5 degrees on Saturday and did little cooling on Sunday at a top of 34.
Saturday provided the hottest day in a month and the second hottest day across the 2018/19 summer, with December 21 edging it out by 0.3 degrees.
The scorching weather saw Mandurah’s residents scattering to enjoy the local beaches and waterways, but the city looks poised to enjoy some more welcome temperatures over the coming week.
The Bureau of Meteorology predicts a dip to an unseasonably cool 21 degrees on Wednesday, which will only rise to 24 by Friday.
A small is rise is expected on the weekend with Saturday and Sunday’s forecasts sitting at a sunny 26 and 29 degrees respectively.
