Australian Paralympic legend Brad Ness will hit Mandurah to kick off a seven-week wheelchair basketball program later this month.
The gold medalist will be on deck to launch the program run by the Department of Sport at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre on Wednesday, January 30, putting participants through a skills clinic and “learn the rules” session.
Ness made his reputation as one of the greatest Australian players winning a pair of World Championships and a gold medal at the Paralympics in 2008.
Now he’ll be looking to pass on his in-depth knowledge of the sport to beginners in Mandurah.
This program follows a successful come and try event held in December 2017 and is open to anyone in the community to participate.
The program will run each Wednesday from January 30 through to March 13, with hour long games following skills sessions.
Local referees from the Mandurah Basketball Association will be mentored by Basketball WA through the program.
The program costs $60 and participants can register online via trybooking.com
