Global phenomenon ‘We Will Rock You’ is preparing to impress in Mandurah with a cast full of local talent when it takes to the stage in March 2019.
Following on from the success of a three-week season at His Majesty’s Theatre in March 2018, the show will rock the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre exactly a year later.
The awe-inspiring production is based on the songs of Queen with a book by Ben Elton and has attracted over 16 million theatre goers from 28 countries since it began in 2002.
The production will showcase a cast of WA talent including Jamie Mercanti, drag artist talent Dean Misdale as Killer Queen, Blake Williams and Paula Parore playing opposite fellow The Voice alumni and husband Clay Darius.
Producer Trevor Patient said he was thrilled to showcase local Mandurah dance and choral talent in the production.
“Our Perth cast and crew are an incredibly tight-knit family and we are so excited to extend this community to include so many talented singers and dancers in the Peel region,” Patient said.

Playwright Ben Elton said he was delighted to encourage and empower local talent in the show from his home state.
“I was an enthusiastic amateur actor myself when I was younger and I know that theatre arts is a hugely positive force in any community,” he said.
“It’s amazing how much unsung talent is out there and I’m very proud that this show is giving an opportunity for so many brilliant West Australians to rock.”
Choir manager and Mandurah resident David Major has already handpicked over 30 singers from the Mandurah and Rockingham area to support the principal cast in their quest to rock the roof of MPAC next year.
Auditions for local chorus dancers will be held in January, 2019.
The show will kick off at MPAC with an opening night gala event on March 27, 2019 will close on March 30, 2019.
