A 23-year-old Wannanup man has been sentenced to nine months prison after driving into two police cars while escaping pursuit, in the Mandurah forum car park.
Dane Ashley Greenwood pleaded guilty to five charges including stealing a motor vehicle, when he appeared in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on Tuesday, via video link from Hakea prison.
Police prosecutor Tamara Read told the court Greenwood stole a $16,000 Volkswagen, from a person he knew in Karratha, then fled to Mandurah between 6pm on August 12 and 6am August 13.

At 1.05pm on August 17 in the forum car park, police attempted to speak with Greenwood who was driving the car.
Senior Constable Read said he reversed into a police car, mounted a curb and drove in the wrong lane. He then drove into another police car.
Senior Constable Read said police managed to surround Greenwood in the cars, ending the pursuit.
Greenwood told the court the scenario was “only two-minutes long”.
He was driving on a disqualified licence issued on September 23, 2018 expiring on January 24, 2019.
Magistrate Anne Longden told the court the offending was not out of character, but accepted his pre-sentence report admission that he had panicked in the moment.
Greenwood was sentenced to nine months prison, had his licence disqualified for four years and nine months and fined $200.
He was made eligible for parole.
