Mandurah CrossFit star Michelle Wong said her gym Family First Fitness had nine teams competing in the event.
“They’re all here with their kids and families – it’s extra special for us,” she said.
Ms Wong said it was a great event for Mandurah.
“Athletes who have come down here can see the beautiful town on a day when the weather has really turned it on,” she said.
Ms Wong, who represents West Australia in CrossFit, said the sport was the “most humbling you will ever do”.
“You might smash it one day and the next you are terrible because you need such a varied amount of skills,” she said.
