Award-winning crime writer Alan Carter is preparing to chat about his latest novel Heaven Sent over a lunch event at Mandurah Library on November 21.
Described as ‘the best Cato ever’, the fourth book in Carter’s Cato Kwong series is set around a string of grisly murders in Western Australia.
The UK-born writer said he was looking forward to getting out and about to discuss the Cato series again.
“The series has picked up a loyal following with many out there eager, dare I say impatient, for the next instalment,” he said.
“Well the wait is over.”
The first book in the series, Prime Cut, won the Ned Kelly Award for Best First Fiction in 2011.
Prime Cut was followed by a further two books about Cato Kwong, Bad Seed and Getting Warmer.

Carter said his recent novel sees Detective Sergeant Philip ‘Cato’ Kwong’s newfound bliss shattered by a string of murders.
“[The book] sees Cato happily married and with a new baby but there are dark forces abroad to threaten that happiness,” Carter said.
“A killer is targeting Fremantle's homeless, a killer who seems to have a personal message for Cato himself.”
Alan Carter will appear at Mandurah Library for the ‘Writers in the Library’ event at 1pm on Wednesday, November 21.
