As part of their commitment to supporting positive mental health and wellbeing, Falcon Primary School celebrated RU OK? Day on Thursday.
The Student Services Team at Falcon Primary coordinated a variety of lunchtime activities including yoga with help from Wise Moves, mindfulness colouring-in, sunflower seedling planting and story time in the library.
The staff and volunteers began the day with a breakfast in the staffroom, which was organised by the Student Services Team.
The whole school then joined in an assembly to sing ‘Hopeful’ and ‘Together It’s OK’ along with an important message about the importance of staying connected and asking R U OK?
The Year 6 student councillors visited each classroom throughout the morning to paint smiley faces on each child’s face.
The school plan to paint and install Buddy Benches, donated by the City of Mandurah, in the school grounds for students to have a place to go to when they need someone to talk to.
RU OK?’s vision is a world where people are all connected and protected from suicide. Their mission is to inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with people around them and support anyone struggling with life.
