National Dog Day – Mandurah and Pinjarra’s best mates

They are a man and woman’s best friends – the loyal accomplice that is loyal to you through thick and thin.

Life is certainly made better with a dog as company – and today is a celebration of pooches across Australia.

August 26 is National Dog Day – an opportunity to pay homage to our four-legged buddies and the joy they give us on a daily basis.

The day’s mission is to help galvanise the public to recognise the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year and acknowledge family dogs and dogs that work selflessly each day to save lives, keep us safe and bring comfort.

Residents from Mandurah, Pinjarra and the Peel region are clearly dog-lovers, with the Mandurah Mail’s shout-out for pet photos leading to an overwhelming response.

Our gallery above is a collection of the region’s much-loved dogs – is your best mate included?
