Police are urging drivers to be safe and pay attention in the cold, wet weather after a nasty crash closed Mandurah Road southbound at Madora Bay Friday morning.
About 6.20am it’s alleged a Nissan X-Trail, turning right from Mandurah Road onto Banksiadale Gate, went through a red light colliding into the side of a silver Ford ute travelling south on Mandurah Road.
All traffic travelling southbound was diverted onto Banksiadale Gate through Lakelands after the road was closed for just over half an hour.

Police allege the X-Trail driver, a 29-year-old Mandurah man continued turning right through the intersection of Madora Bay Road and Mandurah Road when the traffic light going straight across went green but the arrow to turn remained red.
The X-Trail driver received an infringement for going through a red light.
The force of the impact caused the hard lid of the Ford to fly off and the driver, a 22-year-old Safety Bay man, was uninjured.
Both cars received significant damage and had to be towed away.
