Rockingham collected their second enormous win over Waroona this season when a first quarter blitz paved their path to a 127-point demolition of the Demons at Parnell Street Oval on Saturday.
Following on from a big win over the league-leading Baldivis last week, the Rams took little time to get going in their pursuit of a second straight win and ended up posting a 5.3 (33) to 25.10 (160) victory over last year’s grand finalists.
Rockingham recorded 10 scoring shots in the opening term, all of which went through for goals, as they kept Waroona scoreless to romp to a 60-point buffer at quarter time.
Fraser Millar opened the day with the first of his four goals in an impressive performance, and everyone seemed to follow suit with a total 13 Rams booting goals in the victory.
They had seven separate goal-kickers hit the scoreboard in the opening quarter, and the onslaught continued into the second as they piled up another six goals to the Demons’ one, which came off the boot of Mitch Dawson.
By half time Rockingham held a ridiculous 89-point lead, which goals from Millar, Riley Allison, Jaxon Standing and Tyler Sutton helped stretch to a 111-point lead by the end of the third.
The Demons put in an admirable fourth quarter with goals to Zac Moody, Cameron White and Harrison Hull to finish on a strong note, but the scoreboard was well and truly out of reach at that point.
Millar ended his day with top best on ground votes after snagging four goals, while Christopher Oliver (three), Jakob Janzekovic (three), Tyler Sutton (three), Mitch Curnow (two), David Foletta (two) and Luke Dowling (two) all finished with multiple majors.
Ruckman Andrew Leroy and Dawson were among Waroona’s best.
The thumping comes seven weeks after the two sides faced off in round six, which saw Rockingham score more than 200 points in another dour day for the Demons.
