A Supreme Court jury has found Christine Ann Lyons guilty of the murder and attempted murder of her housemate Samantha Kelly.
Her co-accused, Ronald Lyons, was found guilty of attempted murder, but not guilty of murder.
He was instead found guilty of assisting an offender.
Both were charged with murder and attempted murder.
Ms Kelly, 39, was killed about January 23 2016 in a unit at the rear of the Wesley Street, Kangaroo Flat property where she lived.
Her body was recovered from a dry creek bed at Shelbourne almost three weeks later.

Peter Arthur, another housemate of Ms Kelly and the then-partner of Christine Lyons, has already admitted to killing the mother of four.
In a trial that lasted six weeks, the Crown prosecution team said Christine Lyons and Ronald Lyons (who were once related by marriage) were part of an agreement with Arthur to kill Ms Kelly.
The motive, they said, was to give Christine Lyons Ms Kelly’s four young children, to satisfy her desperate desire to have children of her own.
The prosecution argued the trio first tried to murder Ms Kelly by drug overdose, and when that failed Arthur killed her with a hammer.
On Thursday morning, after more than six days of deliberation, the jury found the prosecution’s case against Christine Lyons was proven beyond reasonable doubt.
But while the jury has found Ronald Lyons is guilty of attempted murder, he is not guilty of murder.
Both the accused had pleaded not guilty to each of the charges.
