Peel Hockey’s local competitions continued over the weekend with plenty of exciting action on Sunday.
The men’s competition opened with the first game of the day seeing Halls Head defeat Mandurah 3-2 in a close encounter, followed by Pinjarra who came out on top over Midcity 3-1.
Mandurah was on fire in the women’s competition, toppling Midcity 4-1 while Pinjarra defeated Halls Head 3-2 and Irwinians 2 forfeited to Irwinians 1.
Elsewhere on the weekend Peel Hockey were well represented at the Women’s Country Championships in Perth bringing home the flag for the division two competition with a captivating performance.
The Peel Rebels representative teams had a mixed weekend with the 11/12 boys winning a close game on Friday night against YMCC 1-0, with Luke Symington scoring the lone goal.
The men played another close battle on Saturday, falling agonisingly close again but going down in the last moments of the game 2-1 to Modernians.
The ladies masters faced a tough game on Wednesday night where they fell 4-0 to WASPS.
All clubs’ senior and junior teams welcome new players throughout the hockey season, including part time and casual players.
