Peel Alehouse is gearing up to host a can drive during June for Australian charity Food Bank.
The Halls Head restaurant will offer free children’s meals to families that purchase a standard meal and bring a can of food for the appeal.
Foodbank is a non-profit organisation which acts as a pantry to the charities and community groups who feed the hungry.
Peel Alehouse venue manger Isaac Kellian said the restaurant had held a similar food drive in 2017 and that he was excited to start the appeal next month.

He said it was a simple way to make a difference to feeding the needy in our community.
“Food Bank approached us with the idea because we did something similar over a couple of days in November and December last year – so I said yes. I just wanted to try and help as many people as possible,” he said.
Mr Kellian said he would like to host more charitable events and appeals in the future.
Children must be aged under 12 to receive the deal and cans can contain any kind of food.
