South Mandurah’s netball girls fended off a gallant Centrals outfit to claim a thrilling five-point win at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre on Sunday morning.
Centrals came storming back into the contest but fell just short of their blue and gold counterparts, going down 46-41 in a spirited contest.
South Mandurah had doubled Centrals score 24-12 at one point in the first half, but the visitors refused to go away, trimming at the lead bit by bit until it was just a one point game with six minutes on the clock.
The Falcons managed to steel themselves and escape back out to a four-point lead, and a crucial goal with just 1:15 to go saw them increase their advantage to five, enough to ice the game.
The full wrap-up of all the round five netball action will be posted on Monday.
