Lakelands Library and Community Centre have team up with the local Story Dogs branch to bring the program to locals and offer support for Peel’s home-school families.
Through the partnership, home-school families can benefit from this initiative which promotes literacy, confidence and the love of reading.
Story Dogs, a national organisation, primarily operate in local primary schools.
Boosting children’s literacy and reading skills is at the forefront of great voluntary work undertaken by Story Dogs.
The City of Mandurah Libraries are the first in WA to partner with Story Dogs and only the second public library Australia-wide.
The Mandurah Libraries aim to provide meaningful and accessible services to meet the diverse needs of the community.
They endeavour to connect community members, championing literacy, promoting lifelong learning and supporting locals to thrive.
