The City of Mandurah and community partners are gearing up for one of the most colourful and creative festivals of the year, the 18th annual Stretch Arts Festival, with over 20 workshops on offer during April and May.
This year’s Stretch Arts Festival will bring a feast of new and exciting arts experiences from renowned and emerging artists.
The community can participate in the diverse range of free or low-cost creative workshops that explore mosaic and clay, Noongar dance, photography, a cosplay tea party, a Hydrodome film preview in partnership with Peel Harvey Catchment Council, and dance workshops.
The workshops’ emphasis is on fun and learning new skills and also provide networking and community building opportunities.
Mayor Rhys Williams said Mandurah will once again showcase its emerging story of cultural enrichment, regeneration and proud community spirit during the 2018 Stretch Arts Festival.
“This year’s Stretch program offers a beautiful array of culture, creativity and mind-stretching experiences,” he said.
“We'll see some of the most impressive artistic talent our community has to offer, coming together in the way that our arts community does so well, to showcase us at our very best.
“We invite you to share in the celebrations with us, to reflect with us, and to join us on our journey of creative self-discovery as we shape this new chapter for our city together.”
Everyone is invited to become immersed in creativity and all things arty during the Stretch Arts Festival.
The festival’s busiest weekend, May 5-6, provides free art, music, food, markets, performances and outdoor events over two days.
