Dozens of local representatives were left in the lurch last week after cosmetic brand Avon announced it would close its operations in Australia and New Zealand.
Thirty Mandurah representatives were selling Avon cosmetics prior to the closure last week, according to the Avon website.
Avon president Sharon Plan took to the Avon Facebook page on February 15 to make the announcement that said: “This is a very sad day for our employees and Representatives. As a management team our commitment and focus over the coming days, weeks and months is to support our people and the wider Avon community who are impacted by this decision.”
It was understood that many local representatives were shocked by the announcement that came out of the blue.
A number of Mandurah Avon representatives declined to comment on the announcement after they were contacted by the Mandurah Mail.
