Two local groups have teamed up to help the local environment, just in time for the annual Clean Up Peel Waterways month.
Friends of Rivers Peel has become a partner of the Mandurah Environment and Heritage Group, with the team focusing on cleaning the environment.
Friends of the River Peel posted on their Facebook page that they are hoping the community would jump on board again with this year’s clean-up.

“It's approaching that time of year again, when our wonderful locals and community groups don gloves, grab pick up sticks and take to their favourite patch to Clean Up Peel's Waterways,” the post said.
Events are held in conjunction with Clean Up Australia Day and is designed to increase community involvement in cleaning up our Peel Waterways and surrounds.

Friends of the River Peel has a long history in supporting the Peel environment that includes providing funds for restoration the Harvey river, tree planting in South and North Yunderup and implementing a program to monitor nutrients in the Murray river.
