A Mandurah house on the water, has sold for a whopping two-million dollars – a record price for Port Mandurah, according to a local real estate agent.
It has been over 12-months since the last home sold for this amount, says LJ Hooker Mandurah Real Estate agent Renee Hardman.
“The Mandurah market is well overdue for some growth and I can see the signs in the market place already,” she said.
“With more eastern states buyers than ever before and Perth buyers realising the fantastic value for money Mandurah offers in real estate.
However, Ms Hardman said there were lower-end bargains nearby.
”With the water lifestyle available to everybody, homes can be purchased in Mandurah less than one kilometre from any waterway,” she said.
“Beach units can be purchased for less than four hundred thousand dollars and units that are walking distance to town (and water) can be under three hundred thousand.
“These are being snapped up now.”

Ms Hardman, who was also director of the Peel Thunder football club, said she was fond of the town she had lived in her whole life – and wanted others to feel the same.
“Real estate is not the only thing Mandurah offers,” she said.
“It’s a wonder why more people don’t discover the town more.
She mentioned its “beautiful waterways, proximity to the city, ever-growing, infrastructure (shopping centres, schools etc) and a lovely laid-back lifestyle.”
