Coodanup College celebrated Christmas with carols on December 8, with a special fundraiser to save educational dog Justus, who needed life-saving surgery this month.
About 300 people came to the inaugural caroling event to celebrate the season and help raise the $5000 needed to cover their popular dog’s veterinary bill.
“The generosity from our community on the night was just amazing with our other educational dog Charlie helping fundraise for him,” a spokeswoman for the school said.
“We had food vans, Christmas stalls, a bouncy castle, a petting zoo, fairly floss, drinks, sausage sizzle, arts and crafts for the kids, raffles, Santa with Charlie as his assistant.
“We had carols and a Christmas Nativity play with some humour.”
Coodanup students made gingerbread houses in their home economics classes, which were raffled on the night to raise money for Justus.
The students raised more than $1250 for Justus.
