The votes are in and there has been a major shake-up at the Shire of Murray, with councillors opting for a new-look council and to swap former shire president Maree Reid for David Bolt.
Ms Reid held the top spot for the last two years, but couldn’t secure it for the next couple during a special council meeting on Thursday, October 26.
The overhaul of the council also saw fresh faces sworn in, including Douglas McLarty, Geoff Black and Brad Cardilini.
Those new councillors will join returning representatives Ms Reid, Mr Bolt, Steve Lee, Ange Rogers and Casey Rose.
Mr Lee will flank Mr Bolt after he was, one again, elected as deputy president.

The vote also saw the end of an era for two long-serving members of council namely Christine Thompson who has served on council since 1986 and Patricia Briggs who serviced since 2005.
In a statement posted on the local government’s Facebook page, the shire thanked Ms Reid for her time in top spot.
“We wish to thank her for two wonderful years as shire president,” the statement read.
“Her guidance and warm demeanor have lead the council from strength to strength over the course of her term.
“The councilors are looking forward to working with the community to ensure the district’s prosperous and progressive journey.”
Ms Reid voiced her disappointment for losing the vote in a public post to her Facebook followers on Thursday afternoon.
“I cannot say I not disappointed as I am and only doing two years and not given an opportunity to continue has gutted me,” she wrote.
“I can honestly say I have done a good job and mended many bridges within and out of our community but unfortunately others did not think so.
“I wish David and Steve the very best of luck and I will continue with my normal council duties representing you all.”
At this election the shire boasted a final return vote rate of 35.02 per cent, an increase of over 11 per cent on the 2013 and 2015.
The candidates that were unsuccessful at this election were Donald MacLure and Steve Veevers.
