Brisbane-based circus company Circa will bring death defying circus stunts, clowning, dance music and circus humor to the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre (MPAC) these school holidays.
Their show Carnival of the Animals, which opens with a tense Comédie Française, is based on the work of Camille Saint-Saens and will be directed by Yaron Lifschitz.
Throughout the show, the cast will appear to be boneless and full of energy, opening their suitcases and morphing into sea creatures, desiccated dinosaur bones, inspects and animals.
The show also promises to bring plenty of jaw-dropping acrobatics, tumbling, balancing, exquisite aerial acts and hula hooping suitable for all ages.
There will also be fun audience participation moments contrasted with sombre beauty and rollicking humour.
Circa offers a marvellous experience for children’s early taste of theatre and it demonstrates the infinite possibilities live theatre performance holds for us all.
Carnival of the Animals is about wild imagination, explosions of magic and comical humour that speaks to everyone, especially children.
Show dates and times include:
- October 5, 7pm.
