The Peel Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) has pulled off a major coup, announcing television star and advertising guru Todd Sampson as the headline speaker for its Future Proof 17 business conference.
Mr Sampson, who is also a director of ASX-listed companies Qantas and Fairfax Media (publisher of the Mandurah Mail), is scheduled to give the conference’s keynote address.
He is known for his appearances on ABC TV’s show about advertising Gruen Planet and is a co-host of Channel 10’s The Project.
PCCI acting chief executive Andrew McKerrell said Mr Sampson was a major draw card for the conference because he was not a regular visitor to Western Australia and businesses would be eager for his perspectives on marketing and business growth.
He said the chamber were attracted to the themes of Mr Sampson’s marketing business, television programs and documentaries.
“They all revolve around the concepts of design thinking,” Mr McKerrell said.
“Essentially, this is about changing your thought processes and how you can focus on the journey from problem from solution – rather than just the problem – and the adaptation processes of that new thought pattern.”
Mr McKerrell said the PCCI had put together the conference program to help business prepare for the growth anticipating in the region over the coming years.
“When we originally sat down and thought about a business conference, one thing that drew us to the idea is that it hasn’t been done here before,” he said.
“We also understand there is a lot of big things coming for Peel, but we need to get there.
“So this will give businesses the tools to be prepared before Transform Peel is up and running completely.”
The Future Proof Business Conference is open to anyone in business and is scheduled for Thursday, November 9, 2017, from 8am-5pm.
The conference will be held at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre, located at the Mandurah Boardwalk.
