Pinjarra Alumina Refinery is calling for expressions of interest from community groups who would like Alcoa employees to help with a project or event during the company’s Month of Recognition employee volunteering initiative.
Non-profit organisations within the Shire of Murray and City of Mandurah have until Friday, September 22 to express their interest to obtain volunteer support.
Alcoa’s Pinjarra Alumina Refinery Manager Julio Costa said the spirit of volunteering is embraced by Alcoa’s 4000-plus employees and this is the time of year everyone looks forward to pitching in.
“Alcoa employees are known for their strong commitment to the local community with the Month of Recognition initiative being another opportunity for employees to give back to our community,” he said.
“Since 2006, thousands of Alcoa volunteers have substituted their daily duties with painting, weeding, mulching, event participation, general maintenance and much more.
“Incredibly, employees volunteered approximately 10,000 hours last year to help more than 100 community and non-profit organisations Australia-wide.”
