Although Mandurah resident Frances Bell is quick to point out she is Victorian born and bred, that hasn’t stopped her loving life in the City since she moved here 12 months ago.
Celebrating her 100th birthday on Friday, Mrs Bell said she moved to the RAAFA estate in Meadow Springs from Rockingham to be closer to family and was enjoying celebrating with them.
She said she was thrilled to receive a letter from Queen Elizabeth marking the occasion and a certificate from the City of Mandurah presented by Mayor Marina Vergone.
About 100 members of Mrs Bell’s family and guests from RAAFA lodge helped her celebrate her birthday.
Mayor Vergone said Mrs Bell was proud to now be a part of the City.
Mrs Bell has three children, 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
