Part of the Mandurah’s iconic boardwalk and Mandjar Square’s old Government Jetty are up for a significant upgrade by the City of Mandurah in the next few months.
The boardwalk stretch between San Churro and Dome will see remediation works take off in the near future, which will include repairing and re-coating the steel substructure.
The timber joists, decking and kerbing will also be replaced as part of the $339,462 project.
The City of Mandurah said the old Government Jetty on Mandjar Square was beyond its service life, and was in need of replacement.
The $135,450 works will see the removal of the lower landing of the old fixed timber jetty and the construction of six floating berths for public use.
The new structure will be a modular floating jetty system, which will be flexible both in design and structure.
