A quartet of professional golfers took to the fairways of the Mandurah Country Club for a day of action last Wednesday.
Jason Scrivener, Jarrod Moseley, New South Wales’ Craig Parry and MCC golf pro Gary Colquhoun were all on course for a round of Scroungers.
Mandurah Country Club member George Sieniszkiewicz said it was great to see some top-tier talent playing on the local course.
“A lot of these guys are on the course quite regularly and it’s terrific for the club to have players of that calibre teeing off in Mandurah,” he said.
“It’s not often you get to mingle with guys who are competing in European tours and events like that so it’s good to see them enjoying the course, which is in great nick.”
The club, in conjunction with The Cut Golf Course and Meadow Springs Golf Course, have recently agreed to host a three-day pro-am event with a prize pool of more than $30,000.
Mandurah Country Club general manager Grant Shortland-Jones said the event was an exciting prospect for golf in the Peel region.
“It’s a big event for all three of the clubs and it will bring some pretty good golfers to the Peel region,” he said.
“People who come to attend will also stay in town for three days so it’s good for everyone.”
The pro-am is scheduled to be held in May.
