The Flux mobile phone app allows the people of Western Australia to vote on every piece of legislation that comes before parliament to “put the power back in the hands of the people”.
Mr Shannon, 21, said the party allows the public to vote for policies instead of politicians.
“In the current system, you vote for one person or group who you believe will hold all your principles for the next four years and then you don’t get another say,” he said.
“I think the Flux party is a great idea so the public can truly think for themselves.”
Mr Shannon said the highly secure Flux app is based on blockchain technology, which resolves key existing issues associated with online voting including incorruptibility, privacy, ballot secrecy, end-to-end transparency and verification.
“The Flux party is the first party that lets you choose how you want to use your vote,” he said.
