Craig Simmons led the way for the Mariners with the ball to pull back the visitors at Lark Hill after they got off to a flyer when they won the toss and batted.
Midland was ahead of the game after the openers put on 80 and were 1/122 before the Rockingham-Mandurah captain intervened.
He claimed his ninth five-wicket haul, the most by a Mariner in first grade, taking the first three wickets en route to 6/62 from 26.2 overs.
Kyle Gardiner ripped out the middle order to snare 3/96 from 27 overs as spin claimed nine of the ten wickets with Midland-Guildford dismissed for 260.
At stumps, Rockingham-Mandurah negotiated the last 13 overs of the day to be 0/26.
Tyler Robertson (16*) and Mitch Green (8*) will resume this Saturday and look to bat for as much of the first session as possible.
At the other end of the spectrum, the Mariners under 13s boys have made the grand final after seeing off Scarborough by three wickets in the semi final.
Teague Wyllie played his part with bat and ball, bowling out his eight overs for 2/12 before he made a patient 29* in the reply.
Rhett Bazzo (2/16) and Corey Wasley (2/20), along with the other bowlers were frugal to keep the Gulls to 9/86 from their 40 overs.
Rockingham-Mandurah had some nervy moments but Wyllie kept his head to guide the team to 7/89 with seven overs remaining.
The under 13s will play Bayswater-Morley on Sunday, March 5 at a venue to be determined in the grand final.
The under 15 boys will look to guard their top two spot in the second last game of the season after making 169.
Max Sinclair hung tough to anchor the innings with 47 while Jye Clark and Kade Guppy added 27 each.
The under 15 girls got the chocolates by 47 runs in their match against Whitfords-Warwick.

The under 14s were dismissed for 96 in their second last match of 2016/17 in pursuit of Subiaco-Floreat’s 6/177.
Connor Kilgallon (3/23) and Caleb Langan (2/24) took out the first five Lions for ducks in an amazing start that saw Subiaco at 5/6.
Nathan Banks top-scored with 29 for the Mariners in the response.
This week sees the seniors in action for the second last weekend, with first grade starting at Lark Hill from 11.40am needing a further 235 runs for victory.
