Labor is promising a cash injection for local non-profit Mandurah Wildlife Rescue if it wins government in the March 11 state election.
Labor’s Dawesville candidate Adam Woodage announced the funding on Thursday and said $40,000 would be allocated to assist the organisation to treat and care for wildlife so they can be released back into the environment.
“The Peel region is blessed with a huge variety of wildlife. Mandurah Wildlife Rescue does a great job looking after injured wildlife that comes into the centre every year,” Mr Woodage said.
“Mandurah Wildlife Rescue is a not-for-profit organisation that runs entirely on volunteer help and community support.
“This funding will assist the Mandurah Wildlife Rescue in their efforts to treat and care for wildlife as well as rehabilitate and release them back into their environment.”
