“Between 4.30pm and 8.30pm, attendees will be able to browse market stalls and purchase a bite to eat from a number of culturally diverse vendors, accompanied by light musical entertainment in the tranquil, river facing location,” Shire president Maree Reid said.
“Community members are encouraged to pop down to Cantwell Park for a celebration of our multicultural community,” said Shire President Cr. Reid.
Harmony Week is a State Government multicultural community relations initiative that runs from 15 to 21 March and encourages community members to experience, explore and appreciate WA’s wealth of cultural, religious, linguistic and ethnic diversity.
Applications are still open for food and market stallholders as well as buskers. For further information and to download application forms please visit the Shire’s website, murray.wa.gov.au.
The Cantwell Park Twilight Markets form part of the Shire’s Social Eyes series of events which encourage community togetherness, community space activation and fosters an eyes-on- the-street approach.
As part of the series, the Shire is supporting a number of community groups in the organisation of free community barbeques, which will be held at a park in each Shire locality on Sunday March 26
The Street Chillz Youth Fest will also be back for its second year, as part of the series.
This event will be held from 3pm to 8pm on Saturday April 1 at Pinjarra Skate Park.
