Peel Thunder have named eighteen Fremantle-listed players as part of their Grand Final squad, set to play against the Subiaco Lions at Domain Stadium on Sunday.
Tendai Mzungu, Nick Suban, Matt de Boer, Shane Yarran, Ethan Hughes, Darcy Tucker, Connor Blakely, Harley Balic, Ed Langdon, Alex Silvagni, Jack Hannath, Josh Deluca, Sam Collins, Jon Griffin, Michael Apeness, Ryan Nyhuis, Zac Clarke and Clancee Pierce have all been named for the squad, joining Peel locals Gerard Ugle, Rory O’Brien, Brayden Lawler, Josh Bootsma, Andrew Haydon, Blair Bell, Alexander Bray and Calvin Thorne.
Peel Thunder are likely looking to continue their form following on from a 60-point win against West Perth in Joondalup on September 11 - in which another Fremantle-heavy team applied serious pressure to the 2015 runners-up – and a strong win against the South Fremantle Bulldogs on September 16.
If Peel manage to overpower the Lions, they will become the first team since East Fremantle in 1965 to win the WAFL Grand Final from fourth place.
It will also be the Thunder’s first attempt at a WAFL flag.
