Mandurah Storm rugby league star Ethan Ransfield took out the under 11s WA player of the year award on Wednesday, September 7.
The youngster has been a force for his side this season, with club president Andrew Tarrant saying the Storm were ecstatic for Ransfield’s achievement.
Ransfield was not the only Storm player to pick up an award, with Alex McDermott (under 12s), Unawin Clarke (under 13s) and Sahrai Heller-Pari (girls’ league tag) featuring heavily on the night.
Tarrant said the awards recognised the club’s hard work over the season.
Vincent King also picked up the junior club member award.
“We lost our voices and that was just when the nominated names were read out,” he said.
“This is recognition at the highest level for efforts the players, coaches, managers and volunteers have put in throughout the season.
“We have only been around for four years and rugby league in our local area has taken off.”
