We take our rugby seriously, but it’s hard to deny that some young players might be a little more.. prepared than their counterparts.
Enter: this hero from an Under 9’s League tournament in Canberra.
Sent in to Tony Veitch’s Veitch on Sport Facebook page, the footage shows a young player absolutely demolishing the opposition, play after play.
As you can expect, the comments already hitting the internet have been divisive.
“He is really good for his age, his sheer size is the key, he's got speed too, but as he goes through the grades and gets older and meets bigger kids, his true ability will be seen, impressive,” commenter Garry said.
“Good to see the kids aren't scared to try to tackle him.”
“Lets just sit back and wait for all the helicopter and perfect parents to go up and arms about this child playing with "their" children,” Facebook user Lauren said.
“That's the part that annoys me more."
And, of course, the debate soon turned to the NRL, because any mention of League will always become a debate over which NRL team is best.
“This is why the Warriors are in this predicament,” commenter Andrew said.
These big boys just run over the others kids without learning the basics skills. When they get to the NRL they find they can't do that trick anymore.”
Either way, the young man has taken the field by storm, literally and metaphorically. We have a feeling there might be a club invite in the mail soon in his future.
