Ben Kelly’s family and friends say they won’t give up on their campaign to save the memorial they built near where the young man died on his motorcycle.
On Sunday, they gathered with those who knew Ben well along with complete strangers, all of them horrified Main Roads still planned to tear down the cross.
Ben’s mother Kylie Vernon asked for anyone concerned to come to the park on the corner of Karinga and Mandurah roads in Madora Bay and sign a petition.
She said the family would be there until later Sunday afternoon.
An online petition has already attracted more than 2300 signatures.
