Artists, foodies, artisans and entertainers will all gather at the Pinjarra civic centre on July 23 for Murray’s first Pop-Up Art Emporium.
Locals and visitors will be able to pop in anytime between 10 am and 4 pm to enjoy goods ranging from paper craft, jewellery, pottery, ceramic art, photography, encaustic art, basketry, pastel, acrylic, guache, weaving, texture and obstruct art, wood bark scenes and laser cut wood crafts.
The event aims to promote the work of local artist as well as encouraging visitors to purchase local products and pieces.
Children aged seven and over will also have the opportunity to lean fairy making between at 11 am or 1.30 pm, while attendees enjoy local foods and drinks from The Black Velvet and Honey Coffee.
Local HBF Run for a Reason team will be holding a sausage sizzle on site between 11 am and 2 pm.
Designer Julie Smith will also be attending the event to promote Common Threads along with her own clothing line.
Shire president Maree Reid said the event would help in showcasing local artistic talent and would contribute to the growth of Murray’s cultural sphere.
“It will offer community members and visitors the opportunity to discover new artists and purchase artwork in a convenient one-stop location, as well as providing an invaluable networking opportunity for artists,” she said.
The Shire is currently looking for artists who would like to sell and display their work or would be keen in organising pop up workshops during the event.
Applications forms can be found on the Shire’s website or by contacting Kelly Shipway on (08) 9531 7777 or mailbag@murray.way.gov.au
