Mandurah’s State Emergency Service (SES) and other emergency personnel’s ability to respond to emergencies has been enhanced with the opening of a new purpose-built SES base.
Emergency Services Minister Joe Francis said the new facility would allow the much-needed services of the SES to reach a wider area.
“The Mandurah SES does a lot of great work up and down the coast of WA, including land and sea searches and vertical resues far up north and into the Great Southern as well,” he said.
“It’s great to see such an effective SES team, and this new facility will ensure they will be able to work at their utmost ability.”
“One of the great stories about this team is that something like 5,000 cadets have passed through here,” Mandurah MLA David Templeman said.
“They’ve gone on to continue work in the SES, or move on to the army, navy and air force,” he said.
