Preparations are underway for the Old Mandurah Bridge replacement project, including road changes that will be in place from May 9.
A lane will be closed on Pinjarra Road, westbound, from the estuary (west side) to the Mary Street roundabout to allow for water main relocation and footpath realignment works.
The lane will be closed for one month and one traffic lane will be available in each direction to maintain traffic flows.
The speed limit on Pinjarra Road between Mandurah Terrace and Mary Street will also be reduced from 50kmh to 40kmh in both directions.
This speed reduction will be in place from Monday, May 9 to the end of the project in 2017 to ensure the safety of motorists, pedestrians and project workers.
Work is now underway to prepare for and install the project site offices, as well as fencing to fully enclose the site offices and construction area on the western foreshore.
The site offices and fencing will be complete by the end of May 2016.
Please travel carefully through this area and follow the traffic management directions on site.
