SINGLETON Primary School celebrated its 20th anniversary with past and present students and staff.
Principal Bevan Ripp had worked at the school for 17 years and said he could remember when it stood in the middle of a big sand patch with only a few houses surrounding it.
He said the school opened with just over 300 children and now had 650.
“The expansion of the facilities through the Federal BER program, which coincided with Singleton becoming an Independent Public School saw great improvements in the performing arts, early childhood education and allowed the science and kitchen-garden programs to flourish,” Mr Ripp said.
The school has also been recognised as a national leader of the Money Smart initiative which develops student’s money management skills.
The school celebrated the occasion with an assembly and afternoon tea on March 23.
