MANDURAH Catholic College’s early childhood area was awash with hues of blue last week in recognition of Autism Awareness Day.
Students wore blue T-shirts to mark the day and decorated hands of friendship which acknowledged people with differences and the respect they deserve.
The hands were planted in the grass to create a sea of waving, colorful support for their peers who have diagnoses within the autism spectrum.
Pre-primary students released scores of blue balloons in the afternoon.
All junior school classes had spent the morning participating in various activities and watching informative videos focusing on autism.
