After nearly two years of planning and construction, the $3.5 million park is now open and was enjoyed by more than 3000 people on the opening weekend.
The celebrations included free face painting, a water slide, pony rides, milking cows, tug-a-war, and giant games.
Those who attended the free event were encouraged to consider giving a gold coin donation to show community support for those that have been affected in the South West bushfires.
A total of $1885 was raised which will go towards the Lord Mayor’s Disaster Relief Fund.
Adventurescape was designed with a farm theme and features a 35 metre flying fox, giant pig, a rope climbing challenge, swings, a balance beam, fence maze, old farm tractors and a custom designed 8.5 metre high windmill climbing frame and slipper slide, as well as climb-on timber and fibreglass animal sculptures.
Mandurah resident Tupou Tuatai said he enjoyed a fantastic day out with his family.
“What a well-organised, free family event it was,” he said.
“The kids had a great time and they can’t wait to come back.”
Later this year construction will begin on the second phase of Adventurescape, which will include a skate park and multi-courts featuring a basketball half-court, cricket pitch, four square, rebound and target wall and a ping-pong table.
Satterley’s chief executive Nigel Satterley said that when complete, a total of $5 million will be spent on Adventurescape, making it a great destination for families all over WA to come and visit.
