FEARS are held for two Golden Bay men missing in Mexico.
Keen surfers, Dean Lucas and Adam Coleman, have made no contact with friends or family for almost a week.
The pair was last spotted on November 20, getting off a ferry at Topolobampa at 10pm.
They had reservations and were due to arrive in Guadalajara the next day, but never showed.
Dean and Adam were driving a white and blue campervan with Canadian registration plates.
Desperate loved ones have taken to social media in their bid to find the men.
About 7pm on Saturday evening, a woman understood to be the partner of one of the men posted an update on Facebook saying there had been "distressing developments".
Her comments followed a report by Mexican news outlet noroeste.com which said the bodies of two people had been found in a burnt-out van in Navolato, one of the most dangerous places in Mexico.
The Department of Foreign Affairs has been made aware of the situation and is understood to be liaising with family members.
