A Mandurah man has been sentenced to 15 months imprisonment after pleading guilty to 21 charges including aggravated wounding and possession of a weapon.

The 26-year-old man, who cannot be named to protect his victim, was convicted in Mandurah Magistrates Court on Friday for a string of criminal damage, stealing, driving and drug related offences.
The magistrate said the most serious offence was the unlawful wounding of a person which was “traumatic” and the result of the man’s drug addiction.
On June 22 during a domestic argument the man used a glass bottle to smash the car window, where his victim was sitting.
He also threw an axe at the vehicle which caused $1500 damage to the frame.
The victim received six stitches in the arm and thigh.
On July 27 police found the man in possession of 2.5 grams of ecstasy in Baldivis.
The drugs were in a pencil tin on the windscreen of a vehicle he was sleeping in.
The man told police he had sent text messages to try and sell the drugs but was unsuccessful.
He was also caught in possession of a samurai sword which police found in the centre console of a vehicle on June 30.
When the man’s lawyer said the sword was a collectible item the magistrate said it wasn’t normal for people to drive with their collectibles.
The man had previously been in custody for driving offences, with the latest charges bringing the total up to five.
The magistrate said this warranted a prison sentence and he needed to “learn to take court orders seriously”.
He was given 12 months for driving on a disqualified licence.
The man was sentenced to 15 months and is eligible for parole.
He was also fined $3300.
